It seems you are little shy but being a shy guy does not automatically mean being awkward and self doubting. Inward confidence is just as effective as outward confidence. You just have to find your comfort zone and when you do, there is no reason why you cannot go out on dates and enjoy them. If you are uncomfortable asking her out on dates, perhaps you can start by hanging out with her.
